# 1 Inspiration - How to "Create" your purpose (Introduction)
#1 - Inspiration: How to "Create" your purpose (Introduction)
Before we get into the first episode I want to leave you with this....
If you are a regular listener you would be familiar with my series called "Deconstructed Entrepreneur". This series will continue to run on a weekly basis.
I love interviewing successful people and sharing their stories with you so this will not be going anywhere.
I have something very special for you.....I am including a new series called the "Inspiration Series"..... this is all about you feeling inspired to take Action. I will be sharing a number of things with you from books that I have read, how to overcome challenges to be the best version of you, strategies that you can apply to shift your mindset, quotes that have inspired me to take action and a so much more.
One of the most common challenges that some of my clients have come to me to help them with is to help them figure out what they are meant to do on this earth.
They ask questions or make statements like:
"Why am I here?"
"What is the purpose of my existence?"
"I know that I have something great to offer, but I don't really know what it is."
"I am here for a reason but what is it?"
If you have any been in pursuit to find your greatness and purpose of your own existence, you would agree that this process can be painful, exhausting and very frustrating.
Most people give up looking for their purpose as they never find it. This ultimately leads to an incredibly unfulfilled life. A life filled with no connection to anything, feeling inferior, being ungrateful, lack of ambition and a life of no growth.
For many people, this is the lifelong mission as they set out to find what their true purpose is in life and for many this mission is unsuccessful.
I want to share a nugget of wisdom with you. After my own pursuit to find my greatness, I understood that whilst I was "looking" for my purpose I realised that I never lost it in the first place.
This is an interesting perspective right?
So if I never "lost" my purpose then what was I looking for?
After much frustration, I then asked myself...
"What if I created my own purpose?", rather than look for something I never lost.
This realisation lifted a huge weight off of my chest and immediately reduced my feeling of anxiety. I understood that if I can CREATE it, I am in complete control of what my purpose in life is.
The following step by step approach will help you CREATE your purpose as opposed to finding it.
This is the exact approach I used myself that helped me create my purpose as well as articulate my personal mission statement.
Keep in mind that your mission statement is not set in stone and should be tweaked throughout your lifetime.
Some caution.....this is not going to be easy.
Going through this process will take time and it will challenge you.
Give yourself the time to go through each step; there is no need to rush.
When going through each exercise I recommend that you hand write your responses the old fashioned way.
